    Boost Sales and Craft a Professional Brand: 5 Essential Listing Tips for Success – 2024

    And the good news is, over 95% of all listings on eBay⁣ are not fully optimized, and you only need to know one⁣ more optimization technique than your competitor to beat them.

    In this week’s video,⁣I’m going to show you how to boost eBay sales by a factor of 16 using the 16 times rule. The 16 times rule is⁣used to multiply sales of an unoptimized eBay ⁣listing by a factor of 16. If anybody knew this channel,⁣my name’s Neil Waterhouse, and I’ve been selling online full-time for over 25 years on the author⁣million dollar eBay business from home and re of Dropship Formula.

    So now don’t get me wrong,⁣I’m not saying that every one of your eBay listings will ⁣increase by a factor of 16. That’s not the point. The 16 ⁣times rule is all about how to take a non-optimized eBay listing and increase its sales by a factor of 16 to boost your monthly sales on eBay. The two biggest needle movers are one obviously, list more proven items, and two, optimize the listings that you have live on eBay right now.

    If you’re not optimizing eBay listings, you’re leaving money on the table. If you have a lot of eBay listings and you’re not optimizing them, you could be leaving a⁣lot of money on the table. The 16 times rule is all⁣ about optimizing listings to get them to the top of⁣the eBay search results. First of all, for any of the ⁣newbies watching this video, eBay search tool is powered⁣ by eBay search engine that’s called Cassini.

    The 16 times rule that I’m going to show you now⁣is about optimizing four different parts of your⁣ eBay listings to rank higher with Cassini so they appear ⁣higher in the search results and get more views, and ⁣therefore more sales. Where your listings appear in⁣ the eBay search results is all determined by eBay’s Cassini⁣ search engine with Cassini. The four core values that ⁣drive eBay’s development and tweaking of the Cassini⁣ search engine are one, relevance, two value, three, trust for convenience. Let me show you. The first⁣part of the 16 times rule is to optimize the title of your eBay listing with the most relevant⁣ search for keywords.

    eBay these days allows you⁣ 80 characters for your title. Back in the old days,⁣it was 55 characters. Every extra relevant keyword ⁣that you add to your title increases the amount of ⁣traffic to your listing. If you add more relevant⁣ keywords to your title, you get more traffic, more ⁣views, and therefore more sales. You can very often overdouble the amount of traffic to a non-optimized eBay listing by adding more relevant⁣ searches for keywords. For example, in this listing, many relevant keywords have⁣ been added like office chair, seat leather, et cetera.

    These relevant keywords bring in more traffic to the listing. So the first part of the 16 times rule is to optimize the title re listing to potentially double the ⁣traffic to that listing. I’m not going to go into eBay⁣ keyword research in this video as I’ve done that before⁣in a previous week’s video, but if you miss that video, I’ll put a link at the end of this video.

    The second part of the 16 times rule is to optimize the gallery image. The gallery image is the first⁣ photo that you upload to eBay – When you’re listing an item. It’s also known as image one.

    The gallery image or⁣image one is the image that also appears in eBay search results. When somebody does a search⁣on eBay for any item, as an example, if I do a⁣search on eBay for say, lapel mics in eBay, search results up comes the gallery ⁣image for every listing that appears in the search results.

    By optimizing the gallery image, you can radically improve ⁣the click-through rate. I’ve seen click-through rates ⁣go from less than half a percent to over 4%, which ⁣is an 800% increase, but for the sake of math⁣ and the 16 times rule, let’s just say double ⁣the click-through rate.

    So now you have twice the ⁣traffic from optimizing the title and twice as many clicks ⁣from your gallery image. That means you have twice as many people clicking into your listing. So two times for the traffic ⁣from optimizing the title times two more for the clicks from ⁣the gallery image equals four IE, two times two equals four. You know how four times as⁣many people seeing your eBay listing description. Again, I’m not going to go into optimizing gallery images in this videos. I’ve done that before.

    But ⁣again, I’ll put a link at the end of this video to that video called How to Double Your Click-Through ⁣Rate on eBay Gallery Images. So now that you have four⁣ times more people clicking to your eBay listings, this⁣leads to the third part of the 16 times rule, and⁣that is your description. With your description,⁣you’re selling new items. It’s very important to use⁣a professional-looking eBay listing template to make your ⁣listings look professional.

    An eBay listing template is ⁣simply a listing template that makes your listings look professional and gives your buyers the ⁣feeling of trust and confidence. These days. You can get professionally by listing templates ⁣created for less than $25 and then use that same⁣ eBay listing template for all your listings,⁣whether you’ve got 10 listings or 10,000 listings, you can just use that one eBay listing template.

    An eBay listing template ⁣can dramatically improve sales conversions for new items. And again, if we just use a factor of two, when you have twice the traffic⁣ from optimizing the title twice as many clicks from ⁣optimizing the gallery image or the gallery image, click through rate. So that’s two times two equals four, and now twice the sale ⁣conversions from optimizing the listing description slash ⁣eBay listing template. So now we have two times two equals four times two equals eight,⁣and now the magic happens.

    eBay recognizes your listing as selling more than your⁣ Unoptimized competitors and puts your listing higher up. The search results. We ⁣call this the Jet stream. eBay boosts listings that have a higher sales ⁣conversion rate than other competitors in the industry. This is called the⁣ Impression-to-sale Ratio. An impression is every time a ⁣listing appears in the search results, a sale of course, is every time a listing gets a sale. If all else is equal between your listing and⁣ your competitor’s listing.

    The listing that gets the ⁣lowest amount of impressions or views, but gets the ⁣highest amount of sales goes to the top of the best ⁣match search results. This impression to sale ratio is exactly how supermarkets work. Supermarkets put items⁣ next to the checkout, they have the best impression ⁣of sale ratio, I cana, Coca-Cola, chewing gum,⁣kick card, et cetera. The supermarkets know – And they’ve got the data showing that these items have the ⁣highest chance of selling.

    Every time somebody walks past ’em. I the impression is when ⁣somebody walks past them, eBay search engine is exactly the same. Casini eBay search engine⁣favors the listings with the best impression of sale ratio. In other words, listings⁣that get the most sales for the least amount of views. So this is where the magic happens because your listing has a ⁣good impression of sale ratio, it eBay bump some up higher ⁣in the search results. Now your listing is ⁣getting a ton more views because it’s higher up⁣in the search results, but for the sake of mass,⁣let’s just again use a factor of two or twice as much traffic.

    So the listing is getting twice as much traffic from the tile, twice the clicks we wrote⁣ from the gallery image twice, the conversion from the description and the professional looking by listing template and now twice as many views because eBay bumped the listing higher up the search results. So now we have two times two is four, four times two is eight, and⁣ eight times two equal 16. That’s a 16 times rule.
