Hi guys, Neil Waterhouse. In this week’s video, I want to show you how to open an eBay store. Now, just for clarification, a lot of people get confused about the difference between opening an eBay account and opening an eBay store. These are two totally different subjects.
Difference between opening an eBay account and opening an eBay store
If you are just casually buying and selling items on eBay, like, every now and then. It is very unlikely that you’ll need to open an eBay store today. If you are using eBay for the purpose of selling items to make money, then you are more than likely require an eBay store at some stage.

If you are brand new on eBay, you’ve never sold anything on eBay in your whole entire life, the first thing you need to do is open an eBay account. And not an eBay store. If that’s you and you’ve never sold one item on eBay in your whole entire life. And you don’t already have an eBay account. An eBay store is an eBay subscription where you can show all the items you’ve got listed on eBay in your eBay store
This video I am doing right now is all about how to open an eBay store. Again for clarification, an eBay store is an eBay subscription. Where you can show all the items you’ve got listed on eBay in your eBay store. Here’s an example of an eBay seller who has an eBay store. Notice where eBay displays “Visit Store”.
And it shows this whenever I look at any of the listings that this seller has got. Or any other seller who has got a store. You can look at their listings. It will show this same “Visit Store” hyperlink.

Note that this “Visit Store” hyperlink only shows when the eBay seller pays eBay a monthly subscription fee to have an eBay store. It is not mandatory for an eBay seller or buyer to have an eBay store. Having an eBay account, we can buy and sell items as free. An eBay store is a paid monthly subscription fee. If I click on that “Visit Store” hyperlink, you can see every item this sell has got listed on eBay today. Okay, so this video is about how to open an eBay store.
Steps on how to open an eBay store
And to open an eBay store, click on “My eBay” then “Account” then “Subscriptions” then “Choose a Store”.
Now here you will see all different levels of stores.
If you scroll down on this page, eBay shows you a comparison of each store level.
The main reason most people subscribe to a store, is because of the lower final value fee.
And also the ability to list more items each month free. There’s also other benefits as you can see in the comparison.
Once you choose which store level suits the size of your business, simply click the “Select and Review” button
