Automatic eBay Listing Software – Why You Should NEVER Use It
The ultimate dream formost new eBay sellers is to find some automatic eBay listing software where you press a couple of buttons and the software automatically lists all your supplier’s items on your eBay account. Well, there is lots of software out there that will do just that. And being an eBay developer for over 10 years, we also created an eBay listing programto automatically list items.
However, today, eBay isa different marketplace to what it was 10 years ago and there is no way we would ever use it again for two big reasons, as I’ll show you in this week’s quick video,anybody new this channel. My name is Neil Water House and I’ve been selling on eBay for 25 years. I’m the author of Million Dollar eBay Business from Hayman creator of Dropship Formula. So the first reason to not use automated eBay listing software is if you have a new eBay account and all of a sudden you go from having zero or few listings live on eBay to suddenly having a hundred thousand or more listings live.
You’ll almost certainly trigger eBay’s latest trust and safety algorithm. eBay will then flag your account as high risk and then eBay will almost certainly suspend your account and request a load of documentation from you. Even if you manage to provide all the documentation that they ask for your account will stillbe indefinitely flagged as high risk and very closely monitored by eBay. The second reason to notuse automated eBay listing software is all your eBay listings become exactly the same as all your competitors that are also using the same eBay listing software.
This is why in the industry, this type of automated listing software is called cookie-cutter software because all the listings look exactly the same with no U S P or unique selling proposition and no optimization.
If there’s five, 10 or 50 other sellers using exactly the same listing software all yours and your competitor’s listings are all the same. Back in the old days, we used to use cookie-cutter eBay listing software and wehad some great wins with it. I remember one supplier where we listed over 4,000 of their products on eBay,and in the first month we made over four K profit from that one supplier. But back in those days,there were very few other eBay sellers that had thiskind of listing software back then, we were theonly seller at that time using cookie-cutter software with this supplier.
Those days are long gone, butthe good news is there are still massive opportunities and there always will be is over 95% of all listings on eBay are not optimized. And a big part of the reason why over 95% of listings on eBay are not fully optimized is many sellers just copy and paste or use cookie-cutter software. They’re not optimizing the eBay listings. This is great news if you’re willing to learn how to optimize listings or use low-cost overseas virtual assistants that you can getfrom $1 per hour to do it for you.

So don’t get me wrong, I’m a huge fan of software and I’ll normally always automate first with software over a human. However, novel tasks canbe automated using software or AI or artificial intelligence for those tasks that cannotbe done with software or ai.

And the other good news is beating competitors who use cookie-cutter software or artificial intelligence is really easy as you only need to know one more optimization technique than your competitor to beat them.
