eBay coronavirus – Hot selling items
Transcribe of “eBay coronavirus – Hot selling items”
Hi, guys, Neil Waterhouse. In this week’s video I want to share with you some of the hot-selling items on eBay caused by the coronavirus. The coronavirus, of course, has been a huge blow for so many millions of people around the world. And my heart goes out to all those people who’ve lost their jobs or even worse. I’m not going to go into the latest news about the coronavirus. As I’m sure you’re more than up to date with the latest news. And it’s changing literally by the hour. However, let’s just all say a prayer that it will be over very soon.
When things have got really tough for me is this too will pass
One of my favorite sayings over the years when things have got really tough for me through divorce, et cetera, is this too will pass. Now, one thing to note, though, is people are still spending money right now. Not everybody has lost their job. The supermarkets, for instance, are making a killing. At the moment their turnover is on par with Christmas. And they’re not needing to discount any items to get people in the door. And then of course, the whole industry that provides goods and services for the supermarket, trucks, truck-drivers, truck maintenance, warehouses, logistics, et cetera, and of course all the suppliers for the food and goods that goes in supermarkets. These people still have jobs.
There are also millions of people around the world who have found ways to work from home
There are also millions of people around the world who have found ways to work from home. So they still have an income. And of course there’s all those people that are retired. And of course people that own their own online business or work for people who have online businesses. Last week, for instance, we added another staff member to keep up with the demand. The point is, there’s still a lot of money changing hands every second of the day. So on a positive note, the old saying of when one door closes and another opens. And this is exactly what is happening right now for the online world.
Sales on eBay and Amazon of some products have gone ballistic
With the millions of people now staying at home, sales on eBay and Amazon of some products have gone ballistic. Now don’t get me wrong. I’m not saying every product is selling like hotcakes. Because obviously on any day before and after the coronavirus every product does not sell like hotcakes. So it’s always a matter of us researching and finding which products to sell. In this video I want to talk about what is selling like hotcakes right now. Last week I was talking to an Australia Post delivery person. And she told me that normally she’ll be delivering around 100 items per day. In her truck that day, she had 170. She likened it to Christmas. I’ve also heard on the grapevine that Australia Post is considering delivering on Saturdays and Sundays. To cope with the extra volume of deliveries throughout this coronavirus pandemic.
The hot-selling items on eBay and Amazon since the start of this coronavirus pandemic
And time will tell, of course, whether that happens. In this week’s video, I want to share with you some of the hot-selling items on eBay and Amazon. Since the start of this coronavirus pandemic. Think about this saying. When life gives us lemons, sell lemonade. During the bush fires and drought, sales of water pumps and firefighting equipment, firefighting equipment like flat hoses, fittings, et cetera, went through the roof. So did the sale of portable generators. As many people lost power. And suddenly they needed portable generators.
The government has closed gyms, so dropshipping exercise equipment has skyrocketed
Now with the coronavirus, the government has closed gyms. So dropshipping exercise equipment has skyrocketed. Because of the toilet paper issue, sales of bidets have taken off. Because of the hand sanitizer issue, sales of isopropyl alcohol and aloe vera gel have taken off. For those who don’t know, isopropyl alcohol and aloe vera gel are used extensively to make your own hand sanitizer, and then you can mix it up together so that you have a greater than 66% alcohol ratio, which is what’s required to kill the coronavirus, apparently. You know, personally I’ve got a little bottle of 100% isopropyl alcohol, just a little tiny round bottle which we keep in all the cars that we can spray on our hands if we touch anything like a fuel pump bowser or anything.
Because of the shortage of gloves in the supermarkets, the sale of nitrile gloves has now taken off
Anyway, also because of the shortage of gloves in the supermarkets. The sale of nitrile gloves has now taken off. Because so many people are trying to increase their immune system. Dropshipping the relevant vitamins and herbal supplements like goldenseal, mullein leaf, olive leaf, vitamin C, garlic, ginger supplements, et cetera, have gone ballistic. Because the government is making everybody work from home. Sales of home office equipment like office desks, office chairs, et cetera, again, have taken off. And these days, of course, many people don’t want to leave the safety of their own home to go out and get their hair cut. So hairdressing equipment like scissors, or hairdressing scissors, clippers, et cetera, are also selling like hotcakes.
More and more people and businesses are moving to the dropshipping model on eBay and Amazon
More and more people and businesses are moving to the dropshipping model on eBay and Amazon. So they don’t have to leave their houses. Now I’m not going to go into dropshipping on this video. I’ve done this many times before. But if you’re new to this channel, I’ll put a link to the free dropship workshop on the screen and below.
Huge demand for toys and many other items
Now with kids being at home, which of course has created a big challenge. And we’ve got kids at home as well. It’s created a huge demand for toys and many other items to keep them amused. Electronic keyboards, for instance, are now hot sellers. Because with kids staying at home, they can no longer learn music at school. And the kids, of course, are getting bored, so there’s a huge demand for games and puzzles. But not only are kids getting bored, but so are adults, so we’re seeing a huge demand for garden items, especially if they assist with growing fruit and vegetables, i.e., greenhouses, greenhouse equipment, seeds, all the stuff that goes with growing plants, herbs, vegetables.
Most products are associated with prepping or self-preservation
Most products are associated with prepping or self-preservation, survival, et cetera, are of course all selling well. Things like bread machines, for instance, and even the flour for the bread machines, and yeast, for the bread machine. Although there’s been a big move towards dropshipping as you can do dropshipping without leaving your house, or touching any products, or anybody else coming to your house like couriers to do pickups or deliveries, there’s also a lot of opportunities to purchase items locally in bulk, and then re-bottle the contents into smaller bottles for resale.
It’s not just now we can do this with coronavirus
It’s not just now we can do this with coronavirus. This has always been a big seller. Items like, today, isopropyl alcohol, essential oils, flour, et cetera, all these things can be re-bottled up into smaller bottles. Now, in regards to hobbies, people who’ve been following me for a while would know my hobby is building and flying radio-controlled planes, or jets, is what I love to fly.
Last week the council closed my local flying club for a minimum of three months
Last week the council closed my local flying club for a minimum of three months, and pretty much every modeler flying event around the world has also been canceled like all the other events, so myself and my other members of my flying club, and all the other model flying clubs around the world, will be spending their spare time finishing off all those half-built plane projects instead of flying them. In fact, that’s my effort so far at starting a runway behind me, which needs a bit more slashing and then a bit more cutting, et cetera.
They’ll be continuously logging onto eBay, Amazon, ordering all the little knick-knacks that are required
But anyway, while they’re building these models, they’ll be continuously logging onto eBay, Amazon, ordering all the little knick-knacks that are required. Do one of your family members have a hobby? If so, what is it? And what products will everybody in the world be purchasing to supply that hobby on both eBay and Amazon?
They’ll be buying stuff to keep them amused while this coronavirus outbreak
Everyone’s getting bored, so they’ll be buying this stuff to keep them amused while this coronavirus outbreak is grounding them. So, yes, this is most definitely an unprecedented, extremely challenging part of our life, but it will not be forever. This too will pass. And just remember that saying, when live gives us lemons, sell lemonade. That’s all for this week. Please scroll on down. Leave me a comment below.
