Hi guys, Neil Waterhouse. This week’s video is about how to find drop-ship suppliers using a VPN. This is especially useful if you’re looking for overseas dropshipping suppliers. And/or you have overseas virtual assistants working for you in other countries, like say the Philippines. Please let me know in the comments below if you are already dropshipping in other countries. Last week’s video was about how to set up physical addresses in other countries for dropshipping. If you missed that video, I’ll put a link on the screen and below.

What a VPN is?

Now, for those who don’t know what a VPN is, VPN is simply an acronym for Virtual Private Network. Now, VPNs can be used for many things, including keeping your wifi data secure while you’re logged onto a public wifi network, like say, you’re at an airport or a coffee shop. But this week’s video is about how to use a VPN to find drop-ship suppliers in other countries, or allow your overseas virtual assistants to find dropshipping suppliers in your country or any other country.

How to use a VPN to find drop-ship suppliers in other countries

So let’s launch straight into it. Now let’s say you want to find a drop-ship wholesale supplier for say Nerf guns. If you’re located in say, Australia, and you Google say, wholesale Nerf guns, Google will know that you are located in Australia, and therefore it will do its best to show you as many wholesale Nerf gun websites in Australia as it can, and will give them priority as opposed to showing other countries, the priority will always be the country that you’re located in.

Google and any other website can see your IP address and the IP address of your internet service provider

Now, Google does this because Google and any other website can see your IP address and the IP address of your internet service provider. And it doesn’t matter what kind of device you’re using to surf the net. You know, whether it be a computer, a phone, a tablet, it doesn’t matter. If the device is connected to the internet, Google any other website see the IP address of your computer, your device, and your internet service provider, and it can also see what’s known in the industry as the geo location of your internet service provider.

What’s known in the industry as the geo location of your internet service provider.

So let’s say you want to find a wholesale Nerf gun supplier in say the USA, but you’re located in say, Australia, let me show you. If I Google the keyword wholesale without using a VPN, as you can see, Google shows me a lot of search results from Australia, well from Australia wholesales. However, if I enable a VPN and select USA, then do the same Google searches in the keyword wholesale, as you can see, the majority of the search results are from the USA, i.e. .com and not .com.au.

This is useful if you have virtual assistants working for you

Now, like I mentioned at the beginning, this is especially useful if you have virtual assistants working for you, who are the located in say the Philippines, and you want them to do your product research in your country, i.e. Australia, or in any other country, you know, besides the Philippines.

What is the best VPN to use?

So now the next question that normally comes up is, you know, what is the best VPN to use, as there are literally hundreds, if not thousands to choose from? Now over the years, we’ve chopped and changed many times. And even the last six months, we’ve changed VPNs twice. So rather than needing to reshoot this video every time we change VPNs, I’ll put a link below to the one my team is currently using, and update the link whenever we change.

There are many VPNs that you can use, from free to paid.

Hoxx is a good free one.   This is a plug-in for Google Chrome.

  1. Hi Neil,

Thanks for another great tip. It seems obvious now that I know about it but I probably never would have joined the dots by myself.
